Continuing a Tradition
Historically,
Tajweedul Qur'an started as a centre for Quranic education,
where learning of the Qur'an was imparted in the traditional
seven ways of Qira'at. The process of learning continue to be
conducted by Ulemas with the aim of educating the student on the
various aspects of Islamic religion and culture. Since its
inception the madrasah has been running as a non-profit
organization on voluntary aid and has been a source of immense
reprieve to the underprivileged children who would otherwise
have had no recourse to a decent education.
The traditions devised and adopted by Madrasah Tajweedul Qur'an
continue till today. It is wholly engaged in the service of
Islam and Islamic traditions. Quite a few students passing out
from Tajweedul Qur'an are co-opted into the madrasah as faculty.
This ensures a continuity of traditions and values which are in
turn passed on to the next generation.
Originating as a small madrasah, the Tajweedul Qur'an has
spectacularly carried forward its vision of serving
underprivileged children with a difference for over fifty years.
The institute can now boast of thousands of its students
spreading the message of religion and education globally. An
impressive number of approximately three hundred students
undergo training in a single academic year.
