History & founders of Tajweedul Qur'an
In
1947, Qari Muhammad Suleman sahib, after finishing his studies
took up the job as Imam of masjid Takiya wali, at Azad Market in
the heart of Delhi. A visionary ahead of his times, he decided
to dedicate his life to serving his community and thereby the
cause of Islam. Being a teacher, he understood the importance
and value of education and recognized that this was how he could
serve his community best. Qari sahib began with just three
students. His popularity as an ardent teacher grew with time and
a one-time small madrasah eventually took shape of the
institution, internationally known as Madrasah Tajweedul Qur'an.
The one factor that has worked behind this is the dedication and
vision of this forward-thinking educationist. Janab Qari sahib
passed away on 17 October 2002 . The charge of the madrasah has
now fallen upon the shoulders of Qari sahib's sons, Maulvi
Muhammad Hasan, Maulvi Mahmoodul Hasan and Maulvi Matloob Hasan.
Well aware of the modern systems of functioning and having
knowledge of modern education, Maulvi Mahmoodul Hasan, Janab
Qari sahib's second son, is in the forefront in running the
affairs of the madrasah with perfection. Alhamdulillah , the
madrasah is making progress leaps and bounds under his able
guidance. Spread over an area of over twenty six hundred square
yards, the madrasah is located at Azad Market in the heart of
India's capital, Delhi, and is presently imparting education to
300 students hailing from all parts of the country. The madrasah
provides education, meals, clothes and residence to all its
students completely free of charge. Since its inception the
madrasah has been running on voluntary aid. It does not have any
representative, nor does it have any source of regular income.
