Tajweedul
Quran is among the best in India for its outstanding services to
producing excellent huffaz and qurra'. It was established by
late Qari Muhammed Sulaiman in 1948. Presently, the
standard-bearer is Maulana Mahmood Hasan. At present there are
300 students in the madarsah from different states like
Karnataka, Maharastra, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, U.P.,
Rajasthan, Haryana and Delhi. Out of the madrasah's total staff
of 18, there are ten teachers. Education is free there, and no
charge is demanded for food and accommodation. Most of the
students are from poor Muslim families.
The madrasah has a three-year course for hifz. After the
completion of the course, huffaz are trained to recite Qur'an in
the seven traditionally approved styles of recitation (qira'aat)...
